Full definition
Individual square rubber flooring pieces (typically 500×500 mm or 1,000×1,000 mm) that install individually using adhesive or interlocking connectors, enabling fast installation and easy single-tile replacement when damage occurs without removing the entire floor. Thicknesses: 3-50 mm depending on application (3-8 mm for commercial, 15-50 mm for gym/sport). Materials: virgin SBR/EPDM (premium, consistent color and properties), recycled tire rubber (economical, excellent for gyms and sport), or natural rubber (maximum abrasion resistance). Connection types: loose-lay with adhesive (most common), puzzle/jigsaw interlock (tool-free, no adhesive needed), and hidden dovetail connectors. Tile weight: 3-30 kg/piece depending on size and thickness. Colors: black (standard), gray, blue, red, green, terra cotta (through-body or surface layer). Applications: weight rooms and gyms (most common — 15-40 mm recycled rubber), commercial lobbies, retail, healthcare corridors, and industrial areas. Advantages over roll: easier transport and handling, individual tile replacement, and simple installation around obstacles. Per ASTM F1344 for rubber floor tiles.
