Semi-solid lubricant composed of base oil (mineral or synthetic), thickener (lithium, calcium or polyurea soap) and additives (EP, anticorrosion, antioxidant). NLGI consistency classification from 000 (fluid) to 6 (solid); NLGI 2 is the most universal for bearings. Operating temperature: −40°C to +180°C depending on type. Leading brands: SKF LGMT, Shell Alvania, Mobilgrease XHP, Castrol Braycote. ASTM D4950 classifies by service application.
