A formal document issued by the manufacturer or an accredited third-party laboratory certifying that a specific batch or lot of material meets the defined purchase specifications and applicable standards. Also called Certificate of Conformance (CoC), Certificate of Analysis (CoA), or Mill Certificate. Contents: product identification (material type, grade, lot/batch number), applicable standard (ASTM D2000, ISO 4184, etc.), actual test results (hardness, tensile, elongation, compression set, dimensions — with measured values, not just "pass/fail"), test date and method references, and authorized signature. Quality certificates serve as: evidence of specification compliance for incoming QC acceptance, traceability documentation (linking the material to specific manufacturing batch), and liability protection (demonstrating due diligence in material procurement). For industrial rubber in Mexico: quality certificates are increasingly required by major industrial customers (mining, automotive, oil/gas) as part of vendor qualification. ISO 9001-certified suppliers are expected to provide quality certificates routinely. Request certificates as part of the purchase order terms — add "supply quality certificate per [standard] with each delivery" to PO conditions.
