The predominant term for rubber in Argentina and Spain, covering both the raw material and finished rubber products. In Argentina: "goma industrial" (industrial rubber), "placa de goma" (rubber sheet), "perfil de goma" (rubber profile), "goma espuma" (foam rubber/sponge), "piso de goma" (rubber flooring), and "goma de nitrilo" (nitrile rubber). In Spain: "goma" is the everyday term, while "caucho" is used in technical/scientific contexts and "elastomero" in formal materials science. In Mexico: "goma" is rarely used for industrial rubber (Mexicans use "hule"); "goma" in Mexico more commonly refers to an eraser or chewing gum. This creates a critical localization issue: a product page titled "goma industrial" will resonate in Argentina and Spain but not in Mexico (where "hule industrial" is needed) or Colombia/Peru (where "caucho industrial" is standard).
