Full definition
Non-slip drainage flooring designed for the unique demands of commercial kitchens, food preparation areas, and behind-bar zones: constant water/grease/food spills, high-temperature washdowns, aggressive cleaning chemicals, heavy foot traffic, and dropped utensils/containers. Requirements: deep anti-slip texture (aggressive raised pattern effective even with grease film — COF >0.5 wet per ASTM D2047, R10-R12 per DIN 51130), drainage capability (perforations or raised grid to keep walking surface above standing liquid), resistance to fats, oils, detergents, and sanitizers, and compliance with OSHA 1910.22 and local health codes. Types: (1) Perforated rubber mats — holes drain liquids, cushioned surface reduces fatigue and breakage of dropped dishware. (2) Open-grid interlocking modules — maximum drainage (~80% open area), easily removed for cleaning underneath. (3) Solid rubber with drainage channels — ribbed or grooved for directional water flow. Materials: grease-resistant rubber (NR/SBR with oil-resistant surface treatment), nitrile (for heavy oil exposure), or PVC. Interlock connectors enable quick section removal for cleaning and replacement. Anti-microbial treatments available. Thickness: 12-20 mm. Per NSF International standards for food service. Brands: NoTrax, Cactus Mat, T-Bar, San Jamar.
